VISUAL BOOKS

Hay tantas cosas guays que me encantaría enseñar, pero por temas de "plazos" tengo que esperar antes de poder hacerlo. Por ello hoy tenía ganas de hacer un post muy visual e inspiracional.  Aquí os traigo una selección de algunos de los libros "visuales" ( con gran carga fotográfica) que están desde hace mucho o han entrado recientemente a algun estante de mi librería. Todos tienen una historia y eso es algo que me encanta.

There are so many cool things that I will love to share, but because of "time" I have to wait before I can do it.  Today I wanted to make a very visual and inspirational post. Here I bring you a selection of some of the 'visual' books  (heavily loaded photographic) that are longer or have recently entered into a shelf of my library. Everyone has a story and that's something that I love.

La magnificencia de Cecil Beaton es indudable. Este libro, el cual compré en amazon (2º mano), es algo increíble. Un maravilloso compendio de retratos que el fotógrafo realizo a la familia real británica. Maestría en estado puro

The magnificence of Cecil Beaton is undoubted. This book, which I bought at amazon (2nd hand), is incredible. A wonderful collection of portraits that the photographer took to the British Royal Family. Mastery in pure state.

Este libro de Henri Cartier- Bresson, fue el primer libro de fotografía que me regalaron ( con 16 años). A parte de tener unos textos sobre el autor increíbles consta de una estupenda selección de la obra de Cartier- Bresson. Crudeza, delicadeza, melancolía... hay tantos adjetivos para describir este libro...

This book by Henri Cartier-Bresson was the first photography book that I had (at  the age of 16). Besides having some amazing texts, the author has a great selection of the work of Cartier-Bresson. Crudeness, delicacy, melancholy ... There are so many adjectives to describe this book ...

Mi amor por los prerrafaelitas es una historia muy larga. Recuerdo como descubrí sus cuadros la primera vez que viaje a Londres en la National Gallery. Como poco a poco los fuí descubriendo hasta que volví a Londres y vi la Tate Britain donde mi obsesión por este movimiento se volvío eterna. Existen millones de ediciones maravillosas sobre los prerrafaelitas, pero yo encontre esta edición de bolsillo muy rebajada y no pude evitar comprarla para tenerla siempre a mano.

My love for the Pre-Raphaelites is a long story. I remember how I discovered their paintings the first time I travel to London at the National Gallery. Later, I went to London and  I saw the Tate Britain. Here it was when my obsession with this movement became eternal. There are millions of wonderful editions of the Pre-Raphaelites, but I found this paperback very discountted and could not help but buy it to have it handy.

Este libro fue un regalo y todo un descubrimiento. Yo siempre fuí un gran admirador de Warhol, de hecho uno de los trabajos finales de la carrera lo hice sobre su obra. También recuerdo como en una exposición en Praga descubrñi su faceta como director y me encanto. Bien, pues este libro es una recopilación de todo el trabajo de este artista como fotógrafo, pintor, director de cine, etc. Un valor seguro para vuestra biblioteca, os lo prometo!

This book was a gift and a revelation. I have been always a big fan of Warhol, in fact one of the final works of my degree was based on his work. I also remember an exhibition in Prague where I discover his role as director and I loved it. Well, this book is a compilation of all the work of this artist as a photographer, painter, filmmaker, etc.. A safe bet for your library, I promise!

Recuerdo la primera vez que ví el blog de Tavi. Me parecio algo tan guay, algo tan inusual en la blogsfera ( tan adorablemente desierta en esa época). Cuando me enteré que había sacado un libro-revista recopilando los hits de su revista digital y su blog no dude en hacerme con una copia. Bravo Tavi! Que maquetación, que edición, que fotos y que textos!!

I remember the first time I saw the blog of Tavi. I found something so cool, so unusual in the blogosphere (as adorably deserted at that time). When I found out that se has released a book collecting her hits in her digital magazine and blog , instantly I need a copy. Tavi Bravo! That layout, what an edition, pictures and texts!

Este verano cuando visité Finlandia descubrí la obra del arquitecto Alvar Aalto. En la maravillosa ciudad de Jyväskylä  se encuentra su museo y fue allí donde me hice con este libro antiguo que recorre su obra. Minimalismo y elegancia visual en estado puro.

This summer when I visited Finland, I discovered the work of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. In the wonderful city of Jyväskylä is his museum and it was there where I picked up this old book that compiles all  of his work. Minimalism and visual elegance at its best.

Que te regalen libros es algo maravilloso. Es evidente que yo, autor de este blog, siento predilección por los temas que se refieren a la astronomía . Una amiga mía me regalo un libro que reune algunas de las mejores imagenes del espacio exterior. Mapas estelares, galaxias, agujeros negros... Este libro me ayudo mucho a superar mi luto tras haber acabado la serie Cosmos.

Having books as a present  is something marvelous. It is clear that I, the author of this blog, feel predilection for issues relating to astronomy. A friend of mine gave me a book that brings together some of the best images from outer space. Maps, galaxies, black holes ... This book helped me to overcome my grief after finishing the tv show "Cosmos".

I hope you have inspired "something" this small selection;)
