MY DAYS IN KINSHASA (I)

Hoy es un post muy especial para mi , os quiero mostrar algunas de las fotos que realice durante mi estancia en la República Democrática del Congo. Se que este tipo de contenido no es habitual en mi blog, pero ha sido una experiencia que me ha cambiado tanto la perspectiva que necesitaba compartirla. Kinshasa es una ciudad muy pobre, que rompe tus esquemas. Yo nunca había viajado a África y claro, me impacto el triple. Durante mis días en la capital del Congo acompañé a la Fundación Barraquer mientras se dedicaban a operar a todos los congoleños que se acercaban al hospital ( por llamarlo de alguna manera, imaginad las condiciones) 

Sin duda me vuelvo valorando la capacidad de elección que tenemos , en el más sentido amplio de la palabra. Fueron unos días de sensaciones intensas, pero me volví con unas emociones increibles. Siempre recordaré como los pacientes se tumbaban en la camilla del quirófano, sin ningún miedo, pensando que todo lo que pudiese venir siempre sería mejor....

Estas son algunas de las fotos que hice con mi cámara analógica, en unos días os mostraré más.

Today is a very special post for me,  I want to show some of the photos I made ​​during my stay in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I Know that this content is not usual in my blog, but it has been an experience that has changed me the perspective and  I  felt the need to share it. Kinshasa is a very poor city, that breaks your schemes. I had never traveled to Africa and of course, it hits me. During my days in Congo's capital  I accompanied Barraquer Foundation while they engaged to operate all Congolese who came to the hospital (to call it somehow, imagine the conditions...)

I come back valuing the power of choice we have, in the most comprehensive sense of the word. They were days of intense sensations, but I went back with some incredible emotions. I will always remember how the Patients lay on the surgery table, without any fear, thinking that everything could always become better ....

Sometimes you need to do something bad to stop you from doing something worse.

Hoy me gustaría hablaros de la nueva película de Chan-wook Park ( Oldboy) "Stoker". Hoy simplemente me gustaría dejar escritas frases, tanto de la propia como del director. Todas ellas definen muy bien todo lo que yo vi en ella.

Aquí os dejo con mis recortes, los que hacen que todo el puzzle cobre sentido. Así empezó todo..


"Mis oídos oyen lo que otros no pueden oír; pequeñas cosas lejanas gente no puede ver normalmente son visibles para mí. Estos sentidos son los frutos de una vida llena de anhelo, el anhelo de ser rescatada, de ser completada. Al igual que la falda necesita el viento para ondularse, yo no estoy formada por las cosas que son de mí propio ser. Sólo una vez que te das cuenta de esto es cuando eres libre, y para convertirse en adulto es ser libre."

Mis películas son las historias de personas que colocan la culpa de sus acciones sobre los demás porque se niegan a asumir la culpa ellos mismos.
My films are the stories of people who place the blame for their actions on others because they refuse to take on the blame themselves.

No me entretengo viendo películas que evocan la pasividad. Si necesitas este tipo de comodidad, no entiendo por qué no vas a un spa.

I don't feel enjoyment watching films that evoke passivity. If you need that kind of comfort, I don't understand why you wouldn't go to a spa.

Vivir sin odio hacia las personas es casi imposible. No hay nada malo en fantasear con la venganza. Puedes tener esa sensación. Simplemente no debes actuar en consecuencia.

Living without hate for people is almost impossible. There is nothing wrong with fantasizing about revenge. You can have that feeling. You just shouldn't act on it.

COMO EN SUEÑOS: MARINA PÉREZ

Sinceramente nunca creí , cuando abrí este blog, que haría un post con fotos hechas por mi a la gran modelo Marina Pérez, pero así es el destino te pone delante momentos delante para tu deleite. Tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar el "entre bambalinas"de esta sesión para la revista View of the times .

Marina es una de esas chicas que desprende algo que no se puede explicar con palabras , por eso es modelo. Su presencia frente a la camara es impresionante, y es que la puedes rodear 360º  y da igual dónde este la cámara, siempre tendras un "halo" increible. Su mirada encierra todo y nada, ella lo sabe y por eso no la regala facilmente. Cuando lo hace tu cuerpo a traves del visor del objetivo tiembla y después del click una chispa surge en tu cabeza. Como fuegos artificiales encerrados en una caja de latón, como una nube antes de una tormenta, con penas mudas,como la última ola del atardecer, así es ella... Marina como el mar.

I honestly never thought when I opened this blog, that would make a post with pictures made ​​by me to the great model Marina Perez, but that's the fate . He puts you ahead moments  for your own delight. I had the opportunity to photograph the "behind the scenes" of this shoot for View of the Times Magazine.

Marina is one of those girls that has something that can not be explained in words,that´s the reason why she is a model. Her presence in front of the camera is awesome, you can go around 360 degrees and no matter where this camera is, you'll always get  an incredible "halo" in the picture. Her eyes encompasses everything and nothing, she knows it and she doesn´t give it  easily. When she does it your body through the lens viewfinder shakes and after the click a spark arises in your head. As fireworks enclosed in a brass box,with mute sadness, like a cloud before a storm, as the last wave of the evening, just like that ... Marine as the sea.

El día que conocí a Josh Radnor para fotografiarle para la revista Vanidad me pareció un chico inquietante. Estaba preocupado por la traducción del titulo de su nueva película al español. Quería leer algún libro de un autor español, como Javier Marias. Recuerdo que había visto su película "happythankyoumoreplease" el día de antes, había mucho de ese chico allí...
